Eddie Key is the founder of E.L. Key Law Group, a Business and Entertainment firm located in downtown Atlanta. Eddie is a well-established Business and Entertainment Attorney having practiced in Georgia for over ten years. Key focuses primarily on transactional work associated with the fields of Business and Entertainment Law. Mr. Key has worked with numerous small and mid-sized businesses to assist in building their company’s success. He has negotiated contracts for million-dollar companies and assisted with helping start-ups establish legally sound organizations.
Some of his current clients consist of well-established companies where he assists in building their brands and helps expand their opportunities. Mr. Key has also worked with well-known entertainment clients in television, film, and music. His work with artists and record labels has resulted in obtaining recording, publishing, and distribution contracts. He has used his expertise to negotiate deals that have led to major recording and film contracts throughout the nation.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Eddie is well known for his community for volunteering with programs such as Hosea Feed the Hungry, Atlanta Community Food Bank, and Meals on Wheels to name a few. The E.L. Key Law Group was a lead sponsor and host of the National Bar Association’s Talent Showcase that featured some of the most promising legal talent in the Atlanta area. The showcase allowed participants to hone their craft by performing in front of the top entertainment attorneys in the nation.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Eddie Key graduated magna cum laude from Southern Arkansas University (SAU) with a degree in Criminal Justice. While attending Southern Arkansas, Key played football and received numerous awards, including First Team All-Conference, First Team All-Region, First Team All-American, First Team Academic All-American, Auburn Smith Award (Most Outstanding Student-Athlete At the University), The Commissioner’s Trophy (Most Outstanding Student-Athlete in the Conference) and Academic Athlete of the Year. Key was also inducted into the National College Football Hall of Fame and the Southern Arkansas University Hall of Fame.
During his tenure at SAU, Mr. Key joined Kappa Alpha Phi Fraternity Inc. where he received the award for Greek Male Highest G.P.A. in 2000, 2001, and 2002 and served as president of his fraternity. In addition, Key received the Bill Gates Millennium Scholarship and was inducted into the prestigious Greek honor society of Phi Alpha Delta.
Key received his Juris Doctorate at the University of Arkansas where he finished fourth in the Nation in the Thurgood Marshall Trial Competition and 1st in the University of Arkansas’s Negotiations Competition. Key Graduated from the University of Arkansas Law program in 2005 and began his legal career at King & Spalding, where he specialized in discovery in Torts & Litigation. After leaving King & Spalding in 2009 he started his own firm where currently represents some of the most well-known entertainment and business clients in the city.
